Background
The prevalence of medical illnesses is high among patients with psychiatric disorders. The current study aimed to investigate multi-comorbidity in patients with psychiatric disorders in comparison to the general population. Secondary aims were to investigate factors associated with metabolic syndrome and treatment appropriateness of mental disorders.
MethodsThe sample included 54,826 subjects (64.73% females; 34.15% males; 1.11% nonbinary gender) from 40 countries (COMET-G study). The analysis was based on the registration of previous history that could serve as a fair approximation for the lifetime prevalence of various medical conditions.
ResultsAbout 24.5% reported a history of somatic and 26.14% of mental disorders. Mental disorders were by far the most prevalent group of medical conditions. Comorbidity of any somatic with any mental disorder was reported by 8.21%. One-third to almost two-thirds of somatic patients were also suffering from a mental disorder depending on the severity and multicomorbidity. Bipolar and psychotic patients and to a lesser extent depressives, manifested an earlier (15–20 years) manifestation of somatic multicomorbidity, severe disability, and probably earlier death. The overwhelming majority of patients with mental disorders were not receiving treatment or were being treated in a way that was not recommended. Antipsychotics and antidepressants were not related to the development of metabolic syndrome.
ConclusionsThe finding that one-third to almost two-thirds of somatic patients also suffered from a mental disorder strongly suggests that psychiatry is the field with the most trans-specialty and interdisciplinary value and application points to the importance of teaching psychiatry and mental health in medical schools and also to the need for more technocratically oriented training of psychiatric residents.

Introduction
inhaled loxapine has shown efficiency in the treatment of the mild-moderate agitation syndrome of schyzophrenia and mania patients. Its rapid response and calming effect non-sedative allow to hypothesize reasonable efficiency and tolerability in borderline personality disorder diagnosed patients.
aimsanalyze the efficiency and tolerability of inhaled loxapine as a pharmacological approach in the treatment of agitation in borderline personality disorder (BPD) clinical diagnosed patients.
Materials and methodan application was administered for every agitation episode in BPD patients treated with inhaled loxapine in the emergency room or the psychiatric ward, which included B aRS and CGI-S scales for the evaluation of each episode and its severity, before and after its use. Other secondary measures of efficiency were taken into account, such as requirement of physical restrain.
Resultsin the majority of evaluated episodes inhaled loxapine decreased notably initial B aRS and CGI-S values and no serious clinical side effects attributable to this medication were observed.
Conclusionin our sample, inhaled loxapine was efficiency and well tolerated pharmacological intervention for agitation in BPD patients.

Introduction
The concept of psychogenic psychosis was introduced by Wimmer in 1916 and subsequently extended by Strömgren in the mid twentieth century. It typically describes a polymorphic psychotic episode of abrupt onset and which follows a trauma or stressful life situation. The duration of the episode is usually brief and remission occurs ad integrum. In recent decades, the notion has fallen into disuse in clinical psychiatry and international classifications. This could be due to a general improvement in living conditions, with less exposure to traumatic situations.
ObjectiveWe intend to study the characteristics of psychogenic psychosis in immigrants. We believe that the condition could be observed better in this population, given their greater vulnerability to trauma. For this purpose, we chose a sample of Romanian patients, who nevertheless have considerable cultural affinity with the Spanish population.
MethodsWe collected the clinical and biographical data of four cases of psychogenic psychosis admitted to our clinic between 2012 and 2015.
ResultsFour Romanian women aged 25 to 42 were diagnosed with psychogenic psychosis in this period. Mean length of hospitalization was 5, 0 days. All patients reported familiar or occupational stress prior to the onset of symptoms. Psychotic symptoms remitted quickly with low doses of medication, despite being initially intense.
ConclusionsReported cases fit remarkably well with the original description of Wimmer. The concept of psychogenic psychosis, along with similar brief psychotic entities, could be useful in describing the psychopathology derived from new social models and crises.

Introduction
Antipsychotic-induced hyperprolactinemia is associated with relevant side effects: short-term as hypogonadism, gynecomastia, amenorrhoea, sexual dysfunction and galactorrhoea; long-term as cardiovascular disease, bone demineralization and breast and prostate tumors.
AimsTo evaluate the effect of switching to long-acting injectable aripiprazole on long-lasting antypsychotic-induced hyperprolactinemia.
MethodsThis was a prospective observational 1-year study carried out in 125 outpatients with schizophrenia who were clinically stabilized but a switching to another antipsychotic was indicated. We measured the basal prolactine at the start of the study and 1 year after switching to long acting injecatable (LAI) aripiprazole.
ResultsIn basal analytic, 48% had hyperprolactinemia (21.8–306.2 ng/mL) and 66.5% of them described side effects: 78% sexual dysfunction (72% men), 11% galactorrhoea (100% women), 5.5% amenorrhoea and 5.5% bone pain (100% women). In 48% of patients with hyperprolactinemia, the previous antipsychotics comprised: LAI-paliperidone (65,7%), oral-risperidone (7%), oral-olanzapine (6.1%), oral-paliperidone (5.2%), LAI-risperidone (4%) and others (12%). One year after switching to LAI-aripiprazole, prolactine levels were lower in all patients and in 85% prolactine levels were normalized. Overall, 72% described a clinical improvement, especially in terms of sexual dysfunction.
ConclusionsSeveral studies have described an improvement of drug-induced hyperprolactinemia after switching to or adding oral aripiprazole. In our study, we observed that levels of prolactine were normalized in 85% of patients with a clinical improvement in almost all of cases. These findings suggest that switching to LAI aripiprazole may be an effective alternative for managing antipsychotic-induced hyperprolactinemia due to its partial agonism in D2 brain receptors, especially in tuberoinfundibular pathway.

West Nile virus (WNV) is an emerging vector-borne arbovirus with a zoonotic life-cycle whose main reservoir hosts are birds. In humans and horses, WNV infections rarely result in clinical disease but on occasions – depending on factors such as climatic conditions, insect communities and background immunity levels in local populations – they can lead to outbreaks that threaten public and animal health. We tested for the presence of WNV antibodies in 149 birds belonging to 32 different species. Samples were first tested using a bird-specific ELISA kit and then both positive and doubtful results were confirmed by neutralization tests using WNV and Usutu virus. WNV antibodies were confirmed in a resident Sylvia melanocephala juvenile, supporting the idea of local transmission of WNV in southern Spain in 2013. In addition, the serum from an adult blackbird (Turdus merula) showed neutralization of both WNV and Usutu virus. We discuss our results in light of the occurrence of WNV on horse farms in southern Spain in 2013.

Thin organic coated steels have been widely used in the building industry due to their formability, anticorrosive and antifinger print characteristics. In this work paintability properties of these coated steels were studied. Several thin organic coated steel sheets were treated by means of a roll coater following standard procedures (primer + topcoat) and only with topcoat (in this case, the thin organic coating was used as a primer). Characterization tests were carried out in terms of gloss, hardness, adherence and corrosion resistance.

Currently available methods for the diagnosis of human schistosomiasis often lack enough sensitivity and specificity. Recently, several authors have developed more specific and sensitive diagnostic methods, mainly based on the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique. Nevertheless, these have been only applied for the diagnosis of 1 out of 4 Schistosoma species affecting man (S. mansoni). Additionally, application of specific PCR has been exclusively used for blood or faecal patients' samples. Here, we develop a new, high sensitive PCR approach that allows the genus- and species-specific amplification of the main 4 Schistosoma species causing disease in man plus S. bovis. We further successfully apply this technique for the detection of parasite DNA in easy-to-handle urine samples from patients with schistosomiasis. With these samples, we have found 94·4% sensitivity and 99·9% specificity when applying a genus-specific (Schistosoma spp.) primer pair, and 100% sensitivity and 98·9% specificity in a species-specific (S. mansoni) PCR.

Drying and curing procedures of both organic and inorganic coatings by high frequency induction heating have been developed on a pilot scale. The furnace has been integrated in a continuous coating pilot line that includes a decoiler, a welding machine, a roll coater, convection furnace and a wind up roll. Thus, the complete coating process, including post treatments can be simulated, in particular for automotive applications. The first results obtained on organic and inorganic coatings with this fast curing procedure are presented and compared to those obtained with convection furnaces.

Lightly Fe-doped semiconducting InP samples have been rendered semi-insulating by thermal annealing and subsequently studied by Hall effect, Scanning Photocurrent (SPC) and Scanning Photoluminescence (SPL). Hall measurement shows that the semi-insulating conversion is generally associated to an improvement of the mobility. SPL and SPC measurements show that the distribution of both electrically active iron and compensation ratio is homogeneous after annealing. The cooling rate was seen to influence the compensation ratio.

The homogeneity of semiinsulating Fe-doped InP wafers is studied using mapping techniques, Scanning Photocurrent (SPC) and Scanning Photoluminescence (SPL). These techniques allow to map with a micrometric spatial resolution the distribution of electrically active levels, in particular substitutional iron levels, Fe2+ and Fe3+. The correlation between both measurements allows to obtain information about the local compensation in terms of the [Fe3++Fe2+]/[Fe2+] ratio. Samples thermally treated were studied in order to analyse the consequences of the annealing on the homogeneity.
